“Pubs facing new curb on sectarianism: Radical proposals to curb binge drinking and sectarianism in Glasgow?s pubs and clubs have been announced. The city?s Licensing Board yesterday signalled its intention to close establishments which are encouraging “happy hour” promotions and where sectarian banners or paraphernalia intimidate the public. Councillor Gordon Macdiarmid, the chairman of the board, said that the proposals were in line with those outlined by Sheriff Principal Nicholson in his report of August 2003. . .” Scotsman
