“Rape conviction rate in Scotland is one of the worst in Europe: Allegations of rape in Scotland result in fewer convictions than almost anywhere else in the EU, according to a new report.
Researchers conducting the first comparison of reported rapes across Europe found that the 6% conviction rate in Scotland was second only to the Republic of Ireland at 1%, prompting calls from women’s groups for urgent action to reform the criminal justice system. . .” Herald
