"Drunken girl (11) shocks police as initiative launched: A special initiative aimed at curbing the menace of under-age drinking is being launched in Moray this weekend[ . . .] Police officers will be on the streets of Elgin tomorrow night (Saturday) alongside council outreach workers. They will visit areas where young people are known to congregate on Saturday nights [. . .] If successful, the initiative could be rolled out to other towns in Moray.
The main aim is to educate young people about the dangers of under-age drinking, and the effect that their behaviour can have on others in their community. Any youngster found with alcohol will have it confiscated and their parents will be contacted to collect them. . .” Northern Scot
